Second Hand Photographs ΙΙ, Murals (1987-1989)
Second Hand Photographs, were produced in a pre-digital era. Complicated laboratory techniques were employed to place photographs as murals in the interiors of abandoned rooms or courtyards. Like the murals painted on the walls of ancient Roman villas the photo-murals suggest that these rooms have been inhabited by ordinary people who left on the walls traces of their history, their desires or their fantasies.
The first exhibition of these photographs was accompanied by the following reminder: “Any resemblance to reality or other images is unavoidable”.
